小学二年级便缀学，十一、二岁被父亲送入春秋剧社学戏，拜粉菊花 为师，尊龙、惠天赐、孟海、董玮乃同门师兄弟。 <br />
林正英受训半年後即投入演出，第一个剧目叫《白沙滩》，但他的京 剧生涯只维持了三、四年，经朋友介绍下转行入电影圈。 <br />

第一部电影叫《金刀大侠》，由岳??导演，郑佩佩做女主角，片中林 正英扮个和尚仔。 <br />
从影二十多年，所拍电影不少过五十部，八八年自导自演了首部电影 《一眉道人》，不过却因制作费超支，连导演费也收不到。 <br />
林正英拍得最多的是僵屍片，八十年代初凭《败家仔》及《僵屍先生》 奠定师傅地位。最後一部电影是九四年作品《青锋侠》。 <br />
<font color="darkred"><b>婚姻状况：</b></font><br />
早在八三年，林正英与前妻郑冰冰结婚，婚姻维持了五年多便亮红灯，期间前妻为他诞下一子（家耀）及一女（式瓦），离婚後，一对子女的抚养权却归父方，林正英亦决心将子女送往美国留学，计划到子女长大後，自己亦移居美国养老。离婚後与父母同住，方便照顾一子一女，女儿今年十二岁，读中二，儿子今年九岁，读小学五年级。子女爱看他的戏，自动录下爸爸演戏的录影带，少说也储存了四十多盒。 <br />
林正英爱好家庭生活，父母、兄弟均同住西贡区，他在九一年时曾在西 贡开酒廊。 <br />

已故的李小龙，两人曾合作拍《唐山大兄》一片，林正英做副武指，十分投契。当拍《龙争虎斗》一片时，李小龙特地要求邹文怀写信去韩国 调林正英返港任其武指，两人其後再拍《死亡游戏》，可惜戏未拍完， 李小龙便逝世。 <br />

日薪六十元，其中三分一交给师傅，另三分一拿回家中，馀三分一买食物请师兄弟食，林正英曾说那段日子最开心。 <br />
<font color="darkred"><b>电视生涯：</b></font> <br />
95年获亚视以百万高薪礼聘演出电视剧《僵屍道长》；96年再添食拍《 僵屍道长Ⅱ》，其後拍《等著你回来》97年底原拟再为亚视拍《僵屍 道长Ⅲ》，终成遗愿。 <br />
<font color="darkred"><b>致病原因：</b></font><br />
<font color="blue"> </font>因拍片過於勞累，且因林正英平日喜愛小酌二杯，此雙重因素影響下，引致肝癌。<br />
他在香港信義會小學讀至二年級便被父親送進春秋戲劇學校，拜粉菊花為師 ，林正英在該校學藝五年，和尊龍 惠天賜 孟海 董瑋為同門師兄弟林正英受訓半年後即投入演出，第一個劇目叫《白沙灘》，但他的京劇生涯只維持了三、四年，經朋友介紹下轉行入電影圈。<font color="blue"></font><br />
林正英十七歲時就進入電影圈做龍虎武師，身材嬌小的他，當過不少女演員的替身(像是鄭佩佩)，十九歲時他便開始當武術指導，他當武術指導的第一部影片是《唐山大兄》 (一九七一年，和韓英傑合作)，李小龍主演的影片除《猛龍過江》外，都有他和陳會毅當武術指導。他當武指的影片很多，例如：《富貴列車》(一九八六)等。著名的「洪家班」他是骨幹之一，「洪家班」當武指的影片，他都有份參與。<br />
